Every week there are new movies being released, and some of them deserve to be given a longer life span. Let’s look at three recently released movies that could be turned into video games like Star Wars and become extremely popular in another genre.
1. Godzilla: King of the Monsters
If you fancy trying to save the world from the most dangerous monsters, then this could be a classic. The word is that producing something better than the actual movie might not be the hardest job in the world.
Video game giants often go head-to-head with software houses that specialize in producing movie slots, so competition for franchise licenses is high. But for us players, it means there’s always a wide choice of film-based games to enjoy.
The Godzilla movie sees the legendary beast face some of his greatest enemies (not Kong though, that’s next year’s offering) and any video game based on this movie would be spectacular to look at and play. There’s a thrilling set of monsters to battle including Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan, with the fate of the whole planet at stake. Perhaps some more monsters could be unlocked, too, to make this game an even greater battle to the death.
2. Aim for the Skies with Rocketman
How about a Rocketman video game? This biopic of Sir Elton John has been received well, and its story could easily be adapted into a video game. It’s not just the story of a great musician, but a fantasy musical and that could become even more spectacular as a video game.
This has plenty of potential because it’s a long hard (yellow brick) road to success in the pop world. You’ll start off as a shy child prodigy, but how do you become a pop star? You’ll need to find a new name, get a lyricist (because that’s your weak point), and then somehow get yourself a record contract. The game would have a great soundtrack of course, but you’d need to achieve targets to unlock the top hits that will earn you your fortune. Then do your best to stay on top or become a one-hit-wonder.
3. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
If you want to spend the night shooting your enemies rather than becoming a pop star or battling monsters, then the latest John Wick movie would be ideal. It’s already been a big hit this summer with over a quarter of a billion dollars earned at the US box office.
Just think of the fun you can have as a former hitman who’s now on the run. Will you be able to avoid being captured by the High Table who want to do more than take John Wick off their Christmas card list.
It’d be a video game that takes you around the globe as you battle to stay out of the way of numerous assassins. Will you be able to find The Elder and get him to waive the bounty that’s on his head but at a price?
