After seven years of viral videos, MrBeast has struck a deal with Amazon to bring his elaborate challenges to Prime Video. The YouTuber, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he would be hosting “the largest game show in history” and releasing it exclusively on Prime Video in collaboration with Amazon. He states that over 1,000 contestants will be competing for a grand prize of $5,000,000.

MrBeast’s impressive payout is believed to be the largest single cash prize in television history. The series has been titled “Beast Games” to coincide with Donaldson’s recent reimagining of the challenges from Netflix’s Squid Game.

Big news gamers Iโ€™m going to be filming the largest game show in history and releasing it on Prime Video! Over 1,000 contestants, $5,000,000 prize, and many other world records.. Iโ€™ll reveal more later this year but letโ€™s just say, itโ€™s gonna be an insane show :D

The long-time creator, who uploaded his first video to YouTube under the MrBeast handle at just 13 years old, shared further details about the game show with YouTubers Colin and Samir for their podcast The Colin and Samir Show. A few years ago, MrBeast dethroned fellow YouTuber PewDiePie as the most-subscribed channel, a title snatched from under him by the Indian record label T-Series.

MrBeast’s game show โ€œwill look nothing like a normal game show. It will have the Beast feel but just make it more high-budget,โ€ Donaldson said in the above-mentioned interview. He stated that Amazon is giving him full creative control, so he chose Prime Video as the distributor over its competitors.

Donaldson will serve as both host and executive producer. In a statement to Variety, he said, โ€œMy goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms. Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud.โ€
