Have you ever wanted to whack space robots as a fish-wielding maid or give candy corn-shaped gummies a piece of your mind with a gaming keyboard? Look no further than Muse Dash, the fast-paced rhythm side-scrolling Beat ’em up where whacking cute flying cats with a baseball bat is completely acceptable. In a game where rapid bonking is the key to victory, players may have been so engaged in Muse Dash’s popping tunes and funky grooves that they missed out on a special hidden Easter egg.
Back in February, PeroPeroGames launched their “Thicc Spring Festival Update,” which featured a collab with the renowned Cytus II, introducing the [cyTus] music pack plus a new animated login screen and the hip, cat-eared NEKO#ΦωΦ to the playable roster. However, what players may not know is that there is a hidden Easter egg in this newly added login screen.
To manually access this welcome screen, head over to the “Trove” tab, where all illustrations and animations are located. Here, look for a monitor with the description, “It’s NEKO#ΦωΦ stream time!” It’s easily recognizable by its unique display with a cat silhouette that has a pink hair highlight. Open the screen, and you’ll be met with a fancy animation of Rin and NEKO#ΦωΦ on a video call together. But if you wait for just a few seconds, the smartphone to the left of Rin’s desk will start to ring, displaying the word “æsir” above it. Interacting with her phone will send you to a hidden music track, CHAOS (Glitch), a distorted, 8-bit remix of Æsir’s CHAOS. While the track’s regular version can be found in Muse Dash’s song selection, the ‘glitched’ Easter egg variation only is accessible through this login screen.
Bear in mind, this unique song is exclusive to owners of the Just As Planned DLC. While this downloadable content pack does ask a lot regarding its price, the sheer value it offers may be compelling for some. PeroPeroGames has made it their long-term mission to provide continual support and free updates, not only for the base game but also for ‘lifetime pass’ DLC. Muse Dash features a vast growing catalog of blazingly fast electronic music as well as some gentler tracks. Forward in cheeky anime culture and everything “kawaii,” Muse Dash’s style of bright visuals with its energetic soundtrack will undoubtedly appeal to lovers of the rhythm arcade genre.
Currently on Steam, Muse Dash is 70% off until April 12. Those who wish to expand their soundtrack library, cast of cute characters and expanding trove of illustrations can likewise take advantage of the Just As Planned DLC‘s 20% discount. Muse Dash is available on PC, Switch, Android, and iOS.
