Modern Warfare 3 is one of the most controversial Call of Duty titles due to its copycat style of MW2, assumed to be a $70 DLC by many. Despite all the hate on Campaign mode, however, seems like MW3 and Warzone are actually kicking it registering a better player count than MW2 and Warzone 2 did last year.
A recent post by Charlie Intel shows that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is accomplishing its mission of garnering players. The post simply reads that “listening to the fans” is always good for business, hence the increase in the player count of MW3 Multiplayer and Warzone in the past couple of months.
Warzone is Thriving
Now this might be a reference to the returning gameplay mechanics of slide cancelling and faster mantling in MW3 and Warzone in 2023. Last year, with the release of MW2, Call of Duty went for a more tactical approach, making the gameplay much slower than what we used to have in recent titles.
Modern Warfare 3 brought back the faster movement system, and then it was fully integrated into Warzone. It’s noteworthy that from months ago, the developers have been listening closely to fans on changing maps and playlists to help improve the online Call of Duty experience overall.
It doesn’t stop there, though. The return of a fan-favorite Warzone map with the Resurgence Ranked Play mode has helped a lot with more player count of the game. There are also the two maps of Rebirth Island and Verdansk which are returning in the upcoming seasons.
So overall, Call of Duty is currently set on the right path. Campaign and Zombies modes are still out of the picture with a lack of updates and content. But the Multiplayer and Battle Royale experiences are boosting the MW3 and Warzone player count with Season 2 and S2 Reloaded updates.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are available to play on PS5, PS4,
