Both critically and commercially, Final Fantasy 16 has been a big success. Many attribute this to the talented development team behind it, which includes several high-profile Square Enix devs who have previously been involved with Final Fantasy 14. The game’s story and combat are a standout, and while they stray away from the classic elements of the series, the game nails the innovations that it brings in their place. And for those who have been particularly enjoying this new design, there’s apparently more to come very soon.

Final Fantasy 16 DLC wasn’t announced for the game initially, but things have changed. In a recent interview, Naoki Yoshida talked about bringing more content to the game. He claims the team managed to deliver a finished story in the full game, but with players wanting more, new content could be in the works. This is vague, but it makes gamers hopeful for future content. Besides, Yoshi-P teased an FFXIV/FFXVI crossover, which means this could be what they are planning.

How to Get Masamune in Final Fantasy 16
If we get any Final Fantasy 16 DLC, we only hope it expands upon its rich lore and story. Many think the game had an open ending which left many questions for players who had already finished the title. A DLC could focus on clarifying what happened with certain characters or on something entirely different. Yet, if the only DLC we get is a crossover with the MMO, that’s surely going to be fantastic as well. Creative Business Unit III has done it before with Final Fantasy 15, and it is something that many players love. So, whatever the team is planning, we hope we get new content for this new mainline entry of the legendary RPG series.
