Rihanna continues supporting her partner, A$AP Rocky, by showing up in court for day four of his ongoing trial. However, the pop star’s second appearance wasn’t without some drama.
Unlike her first time, when Riri opted for a low-key all-black look, the songstress turned up the heat on Thursday, making quite the fashion statement. The Fenty Beauty founder donned a white top, a skinny black tie, black work pants, and black pumps. She accessorized with a pair of oversized gold hoop earrings, letting her black hair fall loosely to frame her face. Sticking to her usual pattern, the global star chose to go through a private underground entrance, escaping the media circus outside the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center. A$AP, on the other hand, took the front entrance, wearing an all-black look, amid a swarm of cameras.
Rihanna was seated in the gallery in between Rocky’s mother and sister. She wore no glasses or mask to hide her identity as she listened to witnesses. Witnesses reportedly saw her snacking on some kind of bar while waiting for proceedings to kick off. The billionaire, who shares two sons with A$AP Rocky, remained composed throughout the hearing, barely breaking into a smile or showing any emotion. Cameras haven’t been able to take photos of the entertainer since she began attending the trial. However, a sketch artist present in court captured her look.
A$AP Rocky’s Accuser Yells While Rihanna Is In Court
Rihanna’s fashion moment, however, wasn’t the highlight of the day. Things got heated in the courtroom while Rocky’s lawyer cross-examined the victim, A$AP Relli. As Joe Tacopina asked basic questions to establish if Relli was telling the truth about his testimony, he became increasingly impatient. Both parties began raising their voices at each other, causing the judge to ask for a 10-minute recess.
While exiting the court, eyewitnesses say Relli addressed Rocky directly, yelling, “You did it yourself!” It is unclear what led to the outburst, but when the judge cautioned the plaintiff, he complained about Rocky, saying, “He’s staring at me.”
The Purple Swag artist is facing trial for two felony counts over an alleged November 2021 shooting. Rocky is accused of shooting Relli, a former pal, with a semi-automatic handgun. He has since pleaded not guilty, even turning down a plea deal with favorable terms. The father-of-two would have spent only 180 days in county jail alongside a seven-year suspended sentence with three years on probation.
However, A$AP Rocky opted for a jury trial. If found guilty, he faces 24 years behind bars.
