Team 17’s frantic, roguelike action-platformer, Neon Abyss will no longer be a PC exclusive as today it has been announced for consoles. No specific release date has been announced yet, but, Neon Abyss will make its way over to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at some point in 2020.
Neon Abyss will see players fight their way around procedurally generated dungeons, tasked by Hades with dispatching the new Gods. It’s a classic, fast-paced run, and gun gameplay and it looks to be a lot of fun.
Those of you that play PC and are interested can now download a demo over on Steam and give the game a once over before launch. The demo features 3 difficulty levels that each come with their own time limit. Choose Easy and you’ll have 15 minutes to try it out, medium will give 18 and hard will allow up to 24 minutes of play.
If you’re on the fence the demo will surely make your mind up and for those of you that haven’t even heard of Neon Abyss before, take a look at the trailer:
It reminds me of Rogue Legacy and that can never be a bad thing, that game was awesome.
The full release of Neon Abyss will feature pets that can evolve along the way granting players extra firepower and perks, there will also be random item drops through the levels and let’s not forget the mini-games. Of course, we need mini-games.
These range from piano performances, meditation challenges to dance competitions, because why not? They do have a point though as, not only is there a chance to take a break from the action, there’s also the chance to earn more loot for taking part.
We’ll bring you more on Neon Abyss when the news comes in, but for the meantime let us know in the comments if you’re excited by it. I can’t wait to give it a try on my Switch.
