Neon White, the first-person speedrunning FPS from the team at Angel Matrix and veteran indie developer Ben Esposito, made a surprise appearance at Summer Game Fest with a release date of June 16, one week from today! Take a look at the release date trailer below!

A Story of Redemption

Neon White follows the story of White, a Neon (I know, you must be shocked) who’s been plucked from Hell alongside many other denizens, competing for a shot at redemption. Using the soul cards earned through gameplay, utilize them to either blast away at any enemy that stands in your way or discard them to use powerful movement abilities. Perhaps you can even combine them to find all sorts of movement or combat tech, maybe even finding massive shortcuts other players didn’t consider. All of this, for a shot at the leaderboards and glory above the other Neons vying for a spot in Heaven. Though while standing above opponents may seem like an easy task, your connection to them is a little stronger than you might be led to believe.

Of all the announcements showcased during Summer Game Fest, hearing a release date for Neon White, and a week from today is the most surprising. A pleasant surprise too, given I’ve been watching the game since its initial announcement a long while ago. Either way, for those of you interested, Neon White will debut on both PC through Steam and Nintendo Switch. You can even pre-order the game now and get 10% off, letting you enjoy the world of Heaven for slightly cheaper.

In the meantime though, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the announcement. Will you be working your way to Heaven when the game releases next week? Which Neon will you be wooing using the present system? Let me know!
