At Netflix’s two-day event in Paris, actor Charlie Cox was fairly open in stating that The Defenders will be filming later this year.
The lead Daredevil star (which had its second season released in March on the streaming service), said he is uncertain there will even be a third season of the fan-favorite
What we do know is at the end of this year we’re going to be making The Defenders and, of course, Daredevil is very much a part of that foursome…
I have no idea what the storyline is going to be for that show. I’m very excited to see how those world’s combine… and interested to see tonally how those shows become one.
In terms of wrapping up any storylines, maybe they’ll do some of that in The Defenders. Or maybe they won’t.
Those worlds and shows are Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the upcoming standalone series Luke Cage and The Iron Fist. The Cage and Fist seasons are currently in production, with Iron Fist in the middle of filming its first full season on Netflix.
The Marvel comic universe has seen a massive roster change since the “non-team” debuted in the above issue in 1971. The four Netflix/Marvel members were among them, but other include Dr. Strange, The Hulk, Silver Surfer, Hawkeye, Hellcat, Iceman, and Yellowjacket.
While many of these currently exist or have existed in the Sony/Marvel movie universe, or are currently on the big screen, maybe it gives fans an excuse to speculate on some cameos or tie-ins. Not that I’m trying to start any rumors or anything…
In any case, The Defenders is still listed as “Coming Soon” from Netflix. We’ll be sure to keep our ears to the Hell’s Kitchen ground for you as soon as we hear more!
