The second season of The Umbrella Academy briefly introduced us to a new set of cadets called The Sparrow Academy. Earlier today, Netflix announced the cast line-up for the new season on the show’s Instagram.

The newest cadets for the alternative crew is Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Genesis Rodriguez, and Cazzie David. Justin H. Min will be returning to play the role of Ben, although this is a version of Ben that the audience knows nothing of. The Sparrows are also accompanied by a mysterious cube name Christopher, their loyal oracle.

According to the Instagram stories, Cornwell will be joining The Umbrella Academy as Marcus, Sparrow No. 1, the natural leader described as “charming, chiseled and colossus”. This version of Ben, Sparrow No. 2, is described as a “scheming tactician wrapped in a pretty boy body”, so very unlike the sweet Ben we know. Sparrow No. 3, also known as Fei, is usually the smartest person in the room and will be played by Britne Oldford.

Played by Jake Epstein, Sparrow No. 4, Alphonso, “bears his scars from years of crime fighting” with a biting sense of humor. Sloane, Sparrow No. 5, is a bit of a romantic that will be played by Rodriguez. The final Sparrow, Jayme (Cazzie David) is a “loner hidden under a hood”. All six are supported by their loyal cube, Christopher, who can “turn a room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear”. But he’s really just another sibling.

As of right now, there is no official release window for the third season of The Umbrella Academy, but production is set to begin in February. In the meantime, both seasons can be streamed in full on Netflix and the graphic novels can be found here!
