If you don’t have a Netflix account by this point you’re living under a rock. That statement is even truer now based on a recent survey. According to IGN, it is the biggest powerhouse when it comes to consistent content.
The service continues to give you more anxiety when it comes to picking what you want to watch, with a whopping 676 hours of original movies and television series in just quarter three. Yup, you read that right – and that’s just the original content Netflix adds to the streaming service.
The streaming service launched 289 hours in quarter three of 2017. It is now up fifty percent more with 452 hours in quarter two in 2018. The prior data was gathered and reported by Cowen and Company, which is a financial services firm.
The report also goes on to praise the growth of Netflix as a company. There is a heavy emphasis on acquiring lots of international subscribers as well. If estimated correctly, this could give Netflix a jump of 4.35 million subscribers.
Those numbers are possibly because the company has invested heavily into an abundance of non-American original programming. This includes series like Germany’s Dark and India’s Sacred Games just to name a few.
Netflix continues to be just as successful across the globe as it is in the United States. In some cases, quantity doesn’t always mean quality, but numbers show that Netflix is still the most popular video platform for consumers.
Here are the numbers from the survey conducted by Cowen and Company:
Netflix is at 27 percent
Basic Cable 20.2 percent
Broadcast 17.5 percent
Youtube 11.6 percent
Hulu 5.6 percent
Amazon Prime Video 5 percent
Premium cable at 4.6 percent
Other video platforms are at 8.1 percent.
Netflix still has an abundance of releases for October. Those releases include Daredevil Season 3 and the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
