“The dragon comes for war.” “What joy it is beholding me!” “The Moon Rider has arrived.” “Your Priestess has arrived!” If those responses are familiar, you are in for a treat. Netflix DOTA anime is dropping this March 25. It is starring Davion – 5the Dagon Knight and joined by other characters Invoker, Luna, and Mirana.

Netflix DOTA

Two weeks after its announcement, Netflix’s DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is now ready to premiere this month. And to further build excitement, the DOTA series released a new trailer in addition to the first one. Along with it are four pieces of art that showcase the characters.

The upcoming fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”

DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is by Studio Mir. They are the Korean animation company responsible for Korra and Voltron, Guardians of the Galaxy series, and The Boondocks Season 4. If you will notice, their animation mixes 2D with 3D that will continue with the DOTA series.

Netflix DOTA: Dragon’s Blood is written and created by Ashley Edward Miller. He is the one behind Thor 2011 and X-Men: First Class as the co-writer on the screenplay. Aside from that, he is also the executive producer of the series. In his tweet, Ashley revealed that “the bond that forms between [Davion and Mirana] is the heart and soul of our show.”

Aside from DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, Netflix is also working on a different game adaptation such as The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, The Legend of Zelda, Sonic, and even Assassin’s Creed.
