A woman in Reno, Nevada, reportedly wasn’t a fan of their neighbors’ juniper bushes. Unnamed, the lady in question allegedly decided to burn them down. The fire got out of hand, as it usually does, and it spread to the house next door, burning it as a result.

When the neighbor next door doesn’t like your Juniper bushes, so they tried to burn them and didn’t expect the fire to jump to the innocent neighbors house. #badneighbors #fire #worklife #truecrime #fyp

TikToker Emily Alexander Ranciato shared what remained of the bushes and the house in question. She has shared a variety of content online, most of it involving cats and travel vlogs. The clip attached above quickly became her biggest ever, garnering 1.2 million views, 98,100 likes, and more than 2,300 comments.

The Nevada woman detailed what had occurred before the inferno broke out. According to her, one of her neighbors, another woman, wasn’t a fan of some juniper bushes in the neighborhood. It is unclear whether these bushes belonged to Emily or to another neighbor in the area.

The alleged culprit, feeling the urge to get rid of the harmless vegetation, is accused of setting them on fire. Emily showed the charred remains of what once was a very green set of juniper bushes. Yellow tape covered the area, warning passersby of potential hazards.

Burned House

However, what the neighbor didn’t account for, and she probably should have, was that fire spreads rapidly. Juniper bushes, in fact, are highly flammable and combustible. Worst of all, the trail of bushes surrounding what is potentially Emily’s home directly led to the house next door. The flames severely burned the “innocent” house’s roof, exterior walls, and garage, showing signs of smoke and structural damage.

In a follow-up, the Nevada woman detailed that two fire investigators responded to the scene and talked to both homeowners. Apparently, a neighbor across the street shared Ring camera footage that showed an individual causing the fire. The individual’s clothing seemingly matched that of the suspected neighbor.

“She went back to her house to change clothes and watched the fireman put out the fire,” Emily wrote.

Nevada Reacts to Incident

The video sparked multiple responses, mostly from viewers who were certain that the accused neighbor was in definite trouble. One said, “Arson, tree law, attempted homicide… They are going to jail for a while.” Another one commented, “Catching a felony over bushes is insane.”

Others told Emily to be extra petty moving forward. One wrote, “Replant and send pics to the jail every week thanking them for making the soil more fertile for the new bushes.” Another one added, “I’d replant the bushes just to piss em off.”

No update has been shared since the follow-up. It is unclear whether the neighbor is facing legal trouble as of the writing of this article.
