February 2nd is just around the corner and with that date comes the first DLC release for Black Ops III titled “Awakening.” Along with the new multiplayer maps comes the next installment of the incredibly popular Zombies mode which follows up on the events that occurred in “The Giant.” Der Eisendrache, which translates to The Iron Giant, brings the Origin characters of the zombie series back front and center. The official description on Treyarch’s website reads,

Der Eisendrache, the first chapter of Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Zombies DLC adventure will take players on an epic journey with the Origin characters Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey. Set in an eerie medieval castle built upon an ancient site of unspeakable horror, massive deposits of Element 115 have recently been discovered, delivering inspired new gameplay and – in Zombies tradition – a variety of exciting plot twists and surprises that fans will have the opportunity to discover for themselves.

This new zombies map is said to be about 50% bigger than The Giant and after watching the trailer it appears some weapons from the Black Ops III multiplayer will me making an appearance. Near the very end of the trailer the gravity spikes are seen being used and the Sparrow makes an appearance. The remaining DLC packs are said to continue with the new direction of the Origin characters.
