In the Special Program of Genshin Impact version 4.5, HoYoverse announced the addition of a new type of promotional banner called Chronicle Wish. This new banner features old 5-star characters and weapons. You might think it’s similar to our premium one, but not at all. Chronicle Wish will rotate from time to time and feature members from a specific nation. The first one will include none other than the inhabitants of the Anemo country. This will encourage players to pull for characters like Eula, Klee, and many more. But how does it differ from the banners we already have?
Genshin Impact: How Does the Chronicle Wish Banner Work?
Before the official announcement of Special Program 4.5, many believed that this new banner would only feature Albedo and the usual 4-star characters. Others thought that the characters would appear according to their birthdays. However, HoYoverse surprised us by bringing the whole Mondstadt roster, or most of it. This makes players believe that this new banner will swap between characters from Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru, but it’s all speculation so far. On the other hand, some details are set in stone, and we can explain them to you, our fellow gacha addict.
- The banner’s length has yet to be confirmed.
- Players can choose from any of the six featured characters and weapons.
- Once the player locks their choice, they can start pulling for a specific character or armament.
- For example, if you choose Eula, you’ll likely get her after 90 pulls, which is the pity number for this banner.
- However, pity works similarly to the featured banner. If you don’t get her after 90 pulls, you’ll get her after 90 more—the good old 50/50 rule.
- The banner’s wish count will carry over to the next Chronicle Wish. However, the 50/50 rule will reset, contrary to the premium banner.
The characters and weapons appearing in Genshin Impact‘s first Chronicle Wish won’t last forever. After some time, all items may change. HoYoverse imposed a couple of conditions for the items featuring this banner. First, the characters or weapons must have appeared at least three times before. Second, the characters and weapons must not have appeared in recent banners. These rules will prevent users from waiting another 42 weeks to have the chance to get Eula or someone else and balance the appearance of other party members.
So far, it seems like a great way to mitigate the lack of certain cast members not showing up as frequently in the premium banner. On the other hand, the 50/50 rule for Chronicle Wish is a rough one. While great, we’ll have to wait and see how the community reacts to this addition. Personally, we feel it is great to continue our waifu-collecting game.
