Gamescom and Producer Geoff Keighley, also host/producer of The Game Awards, has announced the line-up of Gamescom: Opening Night Live. This event streams globally on Monday, August 19 at 8 PM CEST/2 PM EDT/11 AM PDT/7 AM UK Time. Legendary video game developer Hideo Kojima will headline the show with a new look at Death Stranding, which releases in November.

Alongside Kojima, there will be a whole host of publishers scheduled to make announcements and debut world premieres. Some of the highlights include 2K, Bungie, EA, Ubisoft, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Epic Games, and Xbox Game Studios.

Here is what producer of Gamescom: Opening Night Live Geoff Keighley had to say:

“I’m so excited to bring the gaming industry together for this unique night that will celebrate many of the biggest games at gamescom that are coming out later this year and in 2020 and beyond,” Keighley said in a statement. “Fans watching the stream around the world should expect an overview of what to expect during gamescom week, updates and reveals on some of the most anticipated games coming in the months ahead, as well as announcements of new projects too.”

Several independent development studios are also promised to make announcements at the show. From the publishers who have been confirmed to have something on the show, we are unsure about what they might showcase.

What games are likely?

In the lead-up to the event, Keighley said they would give more specifics on what publishers were showing. However, we have some educated guesses.

2K will very likely show Borderlands 3 before it releases only a few weeks later. Activision will probably show off more Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and expect an update on Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is set for release in October.
