Bandai revealed in the Digimon Con 2023 live-stream event that it will launch the Digimon Seekers project. This is said to contain a novel, a series of trailers, and new merchandise. The project is the final piece to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the franchise.
In the live stream, the staff said that the name “Seekers” was chosen because each character in the story “will be searching for what is important to them in the real and digital worlds.”
The novel will be serialized in English, Chinese, and Japanese simultaneously on the Digimon website starting on April 3rd. It is said that this project will continue for about a year. Overall, the story will include three groups of people. There will be the crackers, the DigiPolice who stop Digimon crimes, and the hackers. Enji’s rival will be a hacker named Leon, who has a Pulsemon as a partner.
The novel’s story is said to center around Eiji Nagasumi, a 19-year-old with a Loogamon partner. Eiji is a lone wolf, an anti-hero, and someone who never gives up. He meets the Digimon researcher Professor Ryusenjii, and his fate and the Digital World will begin to change.
Other elements of the story will be released on the Digimon website in Japanese, English, and Chinese.
