As Marvel continues to build its cinematic universe (and DC does its best to keep pace), many moviegoers are starting to develop a case of superhero fatigue. The stories happen to different personalities in different settings, but they always run through the same basic points. Marvel is looking to showcase a different side of their superhero universe with the upcoming Doctor Strange. Check out the new TV spot below to see just what this film is trying to do differently:

Although it is still an origin story, the footage from Doctor Strange‘s trailers seem to showcase a very different film from most of Marvel’s other offerings. It’s good to see that Marvel and Disney are willing to embrace the strange side of the Marvel universe in order to bring some different types of stories, heroes, and villains into the MCU.
Doctor Strange is the second of Marvel’s “Phase Three” of the cinematic universe. Phase Three will culminate with the second half of Avengers: Infinity War, which will see Marvel’s heroes come together to fight off a threat from an extremely powerful Thanos.
In Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch portrays the titular Dr. Stephen Strange, a former neurosurgeon who loses everything when injuries from a car crash force him to retire. In a desperate search to heal himself, Strange comes across a world of magic and ultimately becomes our world’s savior in combating the evil magic threatening us.
In addition to Cumberbatch, Doctor Strange also features Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It releases in the United States on November 4th. Stay tuned to The Nerd Stash for our review once Doctor Strange releases.
