A new handheld console called the ONEXPLAYER that boasts abilities and features which could take handheld gaming years ahead has shown up on IndieGoGo. Interestingly enough, people are starting to notice its powerful features, and it has also gained support from a huge game developer.
We have seen mobile and handheld gaming progress faster and faster in time. The games are getting closer to levels of PC and Console gaming. The Nintendo Switch switched things up (no pun intended) in the industry. The console can handle huge games with graphics levels that are similar to PC and Console.
It’s not just the Nintendo Switch; mobile phones are also pushing the boundaries of performance. The ROG phones, the Razer phones are all coming out with jaw-dropping specs.
Similarly, the ONEXPLAYER is another contender in the handheld industry hoping to one-up all others with huge specs. The handheld console promises to bring a Steam experience for every game “anytime, anywhere.”
The specs are amazing for a handheld, to say the least. The device boasts a ROM capacity of 500 GB, 1 TB, or even 2 TB! An 8.4 inch Full HD IPS display running at 2560 x 1600, and a Tiger Lake i7 CPU will allow gamers to download and play Steam games whenever. The controls are inspired mainly by an XBOX controller.
One-Netbook technology, the people behind the handheld console, has made claims on it running Triple-A games like Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2, Tekken 7, and more at 60 FPS. They have also made a claim about it running GEARS 5 at 130 FPS!
The crowdfunding went live on May 10th with a discounted price of $ 899 for the base model. The ONEXPLAYER has received support from Tencent Games, the people behind Player Unknowns BattleGrounds.
Is the ONEXPLAYER something you see potential in? And will you be taking part in helping this handheld console find a place in today’s market? Feel free to tell us in the comment section below, and make sure to follow The Nerd Stash website for all things gaming!
