New Jersey Senator Andy Kim shared his experience at Delany Hall to X after having been attacked at an anti-ICE rally. According to the post, Secretary Markwayne Mullin, in a cabinet meeting that same day, said that Kim was “complaining about being hit by a pepper ball spray at Delaney Hall, and he said that I shouldn’t be there.”

Commenters took to the replies to share their opinions on the situation, with many disagreeing with his recent behavior. One comment in particular even names Kim a traitor and enemy of the United States

Secretary Mullin said I shouldn't have been at Delaney Hall, but I disagree.

This isn't about me. This is about the detainees and their families, the lawlessness we're seeing from ICE.

I was willing to take a risk and I'd do it all over again to keep people safe. pic.twitter.com/XkDdQAeff5

The video above features Senator Andy Kim talking about his presence at Delaney Hall and his intentions. In the post itself, Kim writes, “This isn’t about me. This is about the detainees and their families, the lawlessness we’re seeing from ICE. I was willing to take a risk and I’d do it all over again to keep people safe.”

To clarify, Delaney Hall is a detention facility owned by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that was recently the site for a protest. Senator Andy Kim appeared at the protest to talk about “these detainees and their families talking about the inhumane treatment that they’re going through on our soil using taxpayer dollars that’s now funded towards GEO Group, and they’re getting billions of dollars, and ICE is getting billions of dollars without holding anybody accountable for the lawlessness.”

The Nerd Stash also reported that ICE agents appeared to push New Jersey protestors into oncoming traffic during the protest. Towards the end of this footage, it appears that at least one protester was injured.

Reactions to New Jersey Senator’s Claim of Being Attacked at Delaney Hall Protest

Several commenters in the replies below shared their frustrations with Andy Kim. One person wrote, “You took this Oath for office to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies. Instead you defended the enemies of the United States. That makes you a TRAITOR Andy Kim! You are the enemy of the citizens of New Jersey.” In a similar vein, another commenter wrote, “Imagine this passion for an American citizen? Nope this was the best your voters could hope for. Sad.”

Some commenters even defended ICE’s actions during the protest, with another person writing, “ICE enforcing immigration law is as far from lawless as it gets. What is lawless is your unhinged behavior and your advocacy for violent illegal aliens in this country. You and the TDS infested democrats are what’s wrong with America.“
