Ideally, adults should always conduct themselves in a polite manner in front of children so that they can be a positive role model to them. After all, as the saying goes: monkey see, monkey do. Unfortunately, one woman who was attending the New Orleans Mardi Gras in Los Angeles recently didn’t seem to have got the memo, as a bag of toys was thrown from a passing float to a child, but was snatched out of the youngster’s hands by a middle-aged woman. Notably, the lady who took the toys allegedly didn’t have any children with her at the time.
The 7-second clip is brief, and takes place during the New Orleans Mardi Gras. A youngster is stood watching the parade go by, and one green-colored float with large purple flowers features some people dressed in red and yellow costumes. One of the kind folks on the float tosses out a black bag full of toys directed at the kid and it lands right in front of him. “Oh my god!” shouts an onlooker as the toys land in front of the youngster.
As the child stoops down to pick up the bag, however, a woman sporting a denim jacket comes in from out of the frame and snatches it from him. She even uses her shoulder to shove the kid out of the way. With a smile on her face, the woman drags the bag of toys away and the clip comes to a close.
Of course, due to the inconsiderate actions of the woman, netizens were not very pleased. One Redditor exclaimed, “I don’t understand how nobody spoke out against her? Like she’s bulldozing a child and nobody confronts her about it??” A second commenter chimed in, writing, “And she just waddles off smiling about it. Wow.” Another user expressed: “I hope this video makes her famous and there’s karma for it.” Over on a separate Reddit thread, a commenter quipped, “The Grinch who stole Christmas live-action“
To be frank, that last comment sums up my thoughts on the awkward moment. Taking toys from a child just seems so wrong to me, and I’m shocked that someone would literally snatch a bag of gifts from a kid. I mean, there’s literally a famous saying about all this, right? Not cool.
