New Rogue Legacy 2 Trailer Details, Release Date, and How To Get The Original
The new Rogue Legacy 2 trailer was released earlier today by developer Cellar Door Games and featured stylistic animation to showcase the game’s characters, world, and tone. The sequel itself will feature a new 2.5D art style, weapons, classes, abilities, and biome options and expand on the traits system that was the main staple of the origin la 2013 rogue-lite. Specifically, players can use the new Heirlooms to permanently earn new abilities and access a wider variety of traits.
Cellar Door Games has also released the original Rogue Legacy for free on the Epic Games Store to mark the occasion. By logging onto the Epic Launcher, players can download Rogue Legacy free of charge from now until April 14.
“Our goal for Rogue Legacy 2 was always to make ‘Rogue Legacy 3’ because we didn’t want to settle for just more. It had to stay true to the original but also stand on its own as something new. After nearly four years of development, bringing it to the fans is the final step in this long journey, and we hope they find it as special as we do”, Cellar Door Games explained in a statement.
The early access version is still available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Launcher for $24.99 USD. On the Steam page, Cellar Door Games does clarify that the price will be raised “once more to a final price once v1.0 is released.”
