If you have been playing New World, you may have encountered the Weakness of the Ego story quest. During this quest, you must gather numerous resources including water, Petalcaps, and Rivercress Stem to create a Corruption Tincture. By the end of this guide, you will learn where to find Rivercress Stems to progress through the Weakness of the Ego quest in New World.
Where to Find Rivercress Stems in New World
You can harvest Rivercress Stem from Rivercress plants. You can find Rivercress near water along the rivers of Windsward and Everfall Towns. The map above shows some of the Rivercress clusters around the map. If you are not close to Everfall or Windsward, you can also find the plants near Weaver’s Fen and Brightwood. You may also use the New World interactive world map if you wish to discover more. You might find other players in these regions as well, so you may not immediately find the Rivercress plants. Each plant takes a few minutes to respawn once they have been harvested. It may be worth exploring regions that are not as densely populated so you can relax as you search for the plants.
Rivercress plants are light blue with small orbs surrounding them. You will see a pale blue bubble above a mossy stone. A glowing green and blue plant grows out of this bubble. The plant may be difficult to spot during the day. Searching for Rivercress during the night may help if you have trouble seeing them. Once you find Rivercress plants, you need to use a sickle to harvest the stem. Interact with the plant to obtain the stem. You will also receive water motes that you can use in alchemy. However, you need a harvesting skill level of at least 30 before you can harvest the Rivercress Stem. Once you reach harvesting level 30 and obtain a sickle, you can harvest the plants and advance the Weakness of the Ego quest.
