A New York woman was visiting a local park with her two greyhounds when another dog owner approached her. The dog owner tried to get the greyhounds to interact with her dog, but Rimma declined. The interaction quickly escalated after Rimma firmly said ‘no’ and stood up for her dogs.
TikToker Rimma (@milothepencildog) was visiting a New York park and sitting with her greyhounds in an empty space when a woman approached her. The woman had a Husky and immediately wanted her dog to interact with Rimma’s dogs. But Rimma doesn’t “do leash greetings” with her dogs and clearly wanted her space.
The woman asked Rimma, “Can he say hi?” to her dogs. Rimma said, “No” but the woman wouldn’t actually take ‘no’ for an answer. Instead, she immediately started questioning Rimma and insisted her Husky was friendly. Instead, she kept questioning Rimma and insisted her Husky was friendly. The interaction became increasingly heated, with the woman sitting near Rimma, raising her voice and recording her. In Rimma’s video, you can see the woman recording them as she stands close and angrily refuses to leave.
Eventually, Rimma gets angry, telling the woman firmly, “Leave us alone! I don’t want to say hello!” She even explains that her dogs aren’t friendly toward other dogs and that she just needs to “let it go.” The woman tells Rimma she has “very nice dogs” and berates her for not letting them socialize with other dogs. She follows them closely as Rimma screams, “Stay away from me!”
A group of nearby people comes over to help Rimma and tell her to back off. She explains to them, “This lady won’t leave us alone.” One of the parkgoers tells her to leave Rimma alone and tells her she’ll go to jail if she keeps harassing her. She finally gives in and leaves the park with her Husky.
The video immediately sparked reactions from commenters, many of whom sided with Rimma over what unfolded. One commenter stated, “No is a complete sentence. Why don’t people understand this?” Another commenter mentioned, “You’re better than me because I would’ve escalated the situation.” One commenter added, “All of this over someone creating a boundary and not wanting to socialize.” The video continues to get comments from concerned individuals who believe Rimma handled the situation as well as she could have.
