A New York Karen walked into a McDonald’s restaurant and decided to start some drama with the workers. The reason why? She didn’t like having to use the technology at the front of the store. One man decided to step in and defend the workers before things got too out of control.
In a TikTok video posted by @fc41630, a New York man stood up for some workers when an angry woman wasn’t happy with the service she was given at a McDonald’s restaurant. The man can be heard asking her why she’s treating workers this way “over an [expletive] Coke.” He then goes on to tell her to “wake up” and says, “It’s the new world.” The Karen was unhappy because she had to use an ordering machine at the front of the store.
As the confrontation is happening, you can hear the recorder laughing to themselves the entire time. The Karen tries to immediately defend herself, saying she “does live in the new world.” She sounds defeated as he berates her and calls her out. He asks her, “You’re going to boast that you make more than them?” while pointing at the workers. He then asks her, “What kind of [expletive] is that?” She finally speaks up to try and defend herself by saying, “You don’t like it? Too bad!” The fighting continues amongst the two as the recording ends.
Commenters immediately flooded the video, showing support for the man who defended the workers. One commenter simply asked, “Why do people insult people who handle their food?” Others were completely astonished by the way this woman treated the workers. They showed gratitude for the man who decided to stand up against her anger. One commenter applauded, “Thank you for sticking up for the workers!”
Other commenters had a lot to say about the situation that led to the confrontation. They said that working at McDonald’s is an honest job and shared opinions on it. Many shared their own stories about working in fast food to make a living in our modern times. As one commenter stated, “Bought my first house working at McDonald’s!! I almost went to Hamburger University. Left and went to corporate world but it’s McDonald’s that made me who I am today. It’s called working with the public!”
