It’s common knowledge that when you want to buy something, you simply have to go to the store. If workers are unloading the product you want to buy, you wait until they move it inside the store. These are things anyone is supposed to know. A New York man, however, pretended like he didn’t know any of this. He saw workers unloading shoes and decided that it would be wise to go ahead and take a box without asking. Thankfully for the workers, and unfortunately for him, he came face to face with the police.
The video is filmed by the New York man as he heads toward the workers unloading Nike shoe boxes. He gets closer and starts touching the boxes. He even opens one while one of the workers tells him, “From the store.” It’s a simple instruction. What the man did, however, is that he took a shoe box and started walking away like he owned it. “I take this s**t n****,” he tells them as he walks away. Unluckily for him, he doesn’t take more than five steps before he comes face to face with two New York police officers. They saw him as he stole the shoes and walked over, asking, “What is going on?” The New York man’s response? “I’m doing a skit.” It certainly didn’t look like one, especially since he wrote on top of the video, “POV almost had a free pair of A1’s.”
People Reacting to the New York Man’s Theft Attempt
Almost no one believed the New York man’s claim that he was doing a skit. Even if we pretended he was, what a stupid thing to do. One person wrote, “Straight to jail.” Another mocked the guy as they said, “Yeah that really sounds like a skit…………………………” Someone else replied by saying, “Police and shopkeepers hate this one weird trick.” One Redditor pointed out what many saw as obvious which is that the New York man was actually trying to steal the shoes. “Nah, you got caught. Dumbass,” they wrote. Another also mocked the man as they added, “Real winners save the system time and record their own crimes, so they can be punished faster. What an idiot.”
What the New Yorker did is still considered a crime even if he was doing a skit. “Today I learned that crimes are ok if it’s a skit,” one person wrote. Another pointed out that the man deserved the outcome no matter what was his motif. “Either thief, then deserved Or tiktok prank, then also deserved,” they said. Others kept encouraging how the New York man should now have a jail skit. “yeah that’s theft. Give him a 5 year “skit” in prison,” one wrote. “Cops – ‘We’re doin’ a jail skit’,” another added.
