Some of the most magical experiences in life involve those where our kids discover something for the first time, whether it is a song, a movie, or something else. While some families live these moments and keep them to themselves, some decide to share the wholesome events with the world, and we’re glad they do. One of these situations comes from two New York parents who filmed the exact moment when their kid saw Mickey Mouse for the first time, which led to one of the most wholesome reactions we’ve seen.
The original video comes from Instagram user @diamoniquevalentine. In the clip, we can see the two parents taking their kid to a Disney show. In the clip, aptly titled “When You Didn’t Know Your Bestie Was Coming,” we can see the child wearing a Mickey Mouse outfit and watching as the titular mouse enters the stage. At that moment, the kid is overwhelmed with emotion and starts crying when he sees Mickey. You can even hear the child scream, “That’s my boy!” before bursting into tears. It didn’t take long for the parents to join their son, as they also started tearing up at the sight of this wholesome reaction.
The show went on, and the parents filmed their son after the show, where they asked him why he was crying, to which the kid replied, “Because he was my boy. I want a hug.” Then, they proceeded to look for the famous mouse who was part of the show.
While the video ends there, the story is far from over because several Disney accounts commented on the original post. The Disney On Ice account commented, “WE LOVE THIS! Please check your DM’s.” Then, the official Disney Instagram account said, “We’re witnessing the creation of a core memory.”
The story gathered even more comments, from even more official accounts to users who praised the parents for sharing this moment.
“We’re having all the big feels over this,” said the official Disney Parks account.
“This is what it looks like when you’re raised in love. I love your family dynamic,” commented one user.
In truth, it is fantastic to see such a tight-knit family experiencing these situations. It just shows how happy they are and how well their dynamic works. We can only hope that the boy got the hug from Mickey Mouse after the show.
