A New York property management company is being accused online of giving a female tenant’s spare key to a strange woman and allowing her into the apartment.

The tenant shared a video showing the woman inside her apartment and accused the property management company of giving her a spare key while she was out of town. The footage was reportedly captured by a security camera inside the apartment, showing the woman inside the residence.

In the video, the strange woman could be seen walking around the apartment before lying down on a couch. The security camera then appeared to lose connection, but the tenant quickly reconnected it. Once the camera was back online, the woman appeared to notice it, walked toward it, and removed it so that she would no longer be recorded.

The tenant later shared another video showing a man she knew going to her apartment to confront the woman. He attempted to open the door before repeatedly knocking. When the woman eventually responded, he asked, “Who the [expletive] are you?” and told her to leave the apartment.

“I know you don’t live there. Get out of my friend’s apartment,” he then told her. After repeatedly yelling and knocking on the door, the woman eventually opened it. He again asked her to leave, but she responded by claiming that she was a “patient.” He told her that she was not, prompting her to ask, “So do you have my name and number?”

The man again told the woman that she had to leave. She eventually raised her hands in apparent surrender before exiting the apartment. In an update shared in the video’s caption, the tenant said they called the police but claimed that officers told them they could not arrest the woman because she was “mentally unstable.” This account has not been independently verified.

The tenant added that police also took the woman to a hospital. She further alleged that they asked to press charges and file a police report but the police denied them that. The tenant also identified the property management company as Goose Property Management and accused it of deleting negative reviews. As of now, the company has not publicly responded to the allegations or the backlash.

Viewers Outraged Over New York Property Management’s Alleged Actions

The video sparked reactions online. Many viewers expressed outrage over what the New York property management company allegedly did and called for both the company and the woman to be held accountable. “Omg please tell me she was arrested,” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “What the absolute hell. Do you have a lawyer because WHAT? That’s trespassing at minimum.”

More people expressed outrage over the allegations, with some urging the tenant to take legal action against everyone they believed was involved. “Hunnny press charges! On her, the apartment complex, and the arresting officer. Because a ‘key’ was given is insane! Her immediately tampering with the camera is crazy, and them telling you, you can’t file a report when someone is breaking into your house is crazy. && you just found out your family’s diamond earrings are missing as well!” one person wrote. Another commenter said, “Sue them blind. Every single one of them.”

The video sparked a conversation about how property management companies should carefully control access to tenants’ apartments and ensure that spare keys are only provided to authorized individuals. It also led to broader discussion about the importance of tenants having security cameras inside their homes to document unauthorized access and potentially provide evidence if similar incidents occur.
