New York Woman Explains How Her Boomer Dad is Threatened by His Own Masculinity and It Feels Like Prison, ‘My Dad Thinks Water Bottles Simulate Nursing and It’s Embarrassing’

It’s embarrassing that somebody could actually think that way

Boomers have always been threatened by their own masculinity. Because so many tend to be sexist and homophobic, they don’t want to be perceived as gay or feminine by anybody. A New York woman says that her dad is no different. When it comes to her boomer dad, she says that he will do whatever it takes to appear as masculine as possible, even if that means using a different sized spoon.

Boomer dads are in jail too ❤️

Yvette (@yevit) shared a TikTok talking about how “boomer dads have built themselves some kind of prison that is incomprehensible.” She says that it is difficult being a woman in this day and age, that much is true. However, the things her boomer dad does to appear masculine to others take things to a whole new level. As she says, her father is so “threatened by his own masculinity” that he won’t eat out of a small utensil.

Now, how does that make sense? Well, when it comes to boomers, nothing really makes sense. His line of thinking is that if he eats out of a small spoon, that means he’s “gay”. The funny thing is, this is the same man who’s been married for 30 years to his mother. So, what does he have to worry about?

Yvette says that women will make comments like, “I wanna lose 15 pounds.” But she laughs as she jokingly says that these people should consider that there’s boomers out there like her dad, who will never eat out of a small spoon their entire life. I understand his line of thinking but it still doesn’t make sense. This is being so far out of touch with your masculinity and what makes somebody ‘masculine’ that it’s unreal.

One commenter chimes in with her own personal story, “My dad thinks water bottles simulate nursing and it’s embarrassing.” Another woman shared how her dad isn’t afraid to get in touch with his feminine side. She says, “My dad is a retired truck driver who builds cars in his spare time for fun, collects rare whiskeys, and wears high-end leather cowboy boots in lieu of dress shoes. And he LOVES his candlelit bath nights! And yes, he votes blue.” We need more of this energy brought to the table for sure.
