Life can only get better if you have good friends, and you can meet good friends at any place. One New York woman went viral on TikTok after she posted a video of her doorman being excited for her. This heartwarming friendship quickly won people’s attention, and they started comparing the two to popular TV characters who have the same dynamics. Almost everyone fell in love with the doorman’s excitement at the fact that the New York woman was coming home happy.
The video starts with the woman entering her building while filming her doorman at his desk. She wrote on top of the video “my doorman when he catches me coming home late and wants to know all the details.” As soon as he sees her smiling, he starts smiling too. He says, “Look at that big smile,” and then asks, “Why are you still smiling?” as she nears his desk. The video is cute, especially with how excited he was for her. The lady then wrote in the caption “Living vicariously through me hehe. Mind you he saw me walking in already geeking.” She also mentioned the doorman whose name turned out to be Damon.
People Reacting to the New York Woman’s Video
People in the comments went crazy over this interaction between the two as if they have been besties forever. One person compared Damon to Bertram from Disney’s Jessie show. Another person kept the comparisons going as they wrote, “its [sic] giving london tipton and estaban.” This comment alone had over 450k likes. People in the comments also started sharing their own stories that are somewhat similar to the New York woman’s story. “I’m too poor for a doorman but there’s always the homeless guy who says good morning and goodnight to me as I enter my building,” one person shared. Another wrote, “My doorman told me my ex was cheating. They’re really our best friends.”
Even singer Rita Ora joined the conversation as she left a comment of her own, saying, “I want a doorman like that.” Another thing people noticed was how the New York woman’s doorman looked like a safe person to be around. “Stoppp he seems so safe,” one wrote. Others pointed out how he looked like he was waiting patiently to hear what happened to the New York woman and made her smile like that. “the way he covered his mouth. The tea will be hot,” one said. After the initial video went viral with over 30 million views, the woman started posting more videos with her doorman in it. She wrote on one video what others were saying in the comments “London Tipton and Mr. Mosby.” In another video, she tells him that their video together went viral. His reaction was simply to hug her tightly which showed their close friendship. “He’s the best! This is really how we interact,” she wrote in the caption.
She then posted another video where she walked up to him and asked if he noticed anything different about her. It took him a few seconds to notice that she had a new haircut. “I love it,” he said as he asked her to turn around. The New York resident then shares with him how their first video together got more likes than Drake’s. This is something I would be proud of too. The doorman also says that he is feeling a lot of love coming from everyone who saw the video.
The last update the New York woman posted is of her and the doorman as she talked about the tea she shared with him in the initial video. She shared that she was excited because she was coming back from a friend’s birthday. He then jokes that she “always goes out.” As the video nears its end, he says, “And we are best buddies,” to which she responds with, “We are besties.” One person wrote, “I WANT HIM TO BE MY BESTIE.” I, too, would have loved to have Damon as one of my besties. I would share with him all the tea and be sure that he would be excited for me every single time.
