A New York woman shared some advice for the new generation who is seeking to purchase six-figure houses in today’s economy. She was able to do so, and, according to her, all you need to do is get hit by a car or even get your face mauled by a dog. Of course, she later explained what she meant in a follow-up.
The woman’s name is Lauren, and she is a 27-year-old teacher who shared her story on TikTok. She usually shares clips of her dog and family, and has 786 followers. The clip in question, however, went viral, garnering 993,400 views, 152,800 likes, and 2459 comments in a day.
After introducing herself, the New York teacher revealed that she bought a $720,000 house back in May 2025, alongside her fiancé. Lauren said that everyone always asks how they could afford such a place “in this economy,” and now she was willing to share her advice on how to get such an expensive house in 2026.
According to her, it’s a two-step process.
“Number one: get hit by a car while you’re in the car in the back seat and break your face,” she said. “Number two: get bit by a dog and have it maul your face.”
Lauren revealed that she was the one hit by a car, while her fiancé was bitten by a dog. Sarcastically, she called this process “super simple,” and hoped someone would find her advice helpful.
Incidents Explained
After the New York woman’s clip went viral, she posted a follow-up clip. After clarifying that she wasn’t encouraging people to seek injury, she detailed how both incidents occurred.
First, while in the back seat of her parents’ car, she got hit while on the way to attending a Broadway show, Aladdin. She was 16 years old at the time, and she suffered many injuries as a result, leading to a facial reconstruction. She saved up and invested the money she got from the incident for her future, which apparently paid off.
Her fiancé, meanwhile, got mauled by a dog when he was “super little.” Similarly, his parents invested the money, securing his future. Both of them met in high school and later learned about their situations. As a result, they got to invest their money and bought a house.
Advice Accepted, Reactions
The video sparked plenty of reactions online. Many users matched the New York woman’s sarcasm. One viewer commented, “As a single person, I’ll have to go through both.” Another one said, “Asking Siri for busy intersections near dog parks in my area.”
Others were shocked to hear what happened to Lauren, specifically how they had to reconstruct her face. One viewer wrote, “The work is impeccable, babe.” Others applauded how their parents invested their children’s money. One user commented, “You’d be surprised how many parents would not have done that.”
The New York woman’s story and her sarcastic tone appear to have connected deeply with all her viewers. The hook, which is how to afford an expensive home, catches the users’ attention, but then the shocking reveal of both life-threatening incidents ensures many reactions.
Lauren has promised her followers a house tour, which will happen sooner rather than later.
