A woman in New York was worried sick after noticing a man’s odd behavior in a parking lot. Believing it was a sex trafficking attempt, she went inside a store to find the alleged victim. Then, she learned the truth: it was a man apparently stalking his ex-girlfriend.

TikToker Katherine Veronica shared the story online. She usually posts a variety of content, including her workout routines, hauls, and makeup. The clip attached above, however, quickly became her biggest ever, garnering 1.3 million views, 52,000 likes, and close to 400 comments.

From the get-go, the New York woman feared that something had gone terribly wrong. She was parking outside a local store during her break when she witnessed what she believed was a “real-life sex trafficking” attempt. According to her, a man had parked, exited his vehicle, opened up a woman’s vehicle’s gas flap, and placed a piece of paper inside. Then, he drove away to the opposite side of the parking lot.

“I’m waiting here to see whose car this is,” Katherine said. “[…] I wanna tell her, because that’s really weird. And why would he go in the gas tank flap and not the window or something?“

Warning Potential Victim

In a follow-up, Katherine, still in her car, needed to go to work. So, she decided to take matters into her own hands and entered the store where the other woman was at the time. Immediately, she found her and asked her about the man who had placed the piece of paper in her gas flap.

The woman, who was off-camera, told her she did, in fact, know who the man was. Relieved, the New York woman told her she thought she was witnessing a sex trafficking situation, to which both of them laughed. However, the unnamed woman revealed that the fellow was actually her ex-boyfriend.

“He likes to put, like, little notes, and it’s like weird and cute at the same time,” the woman said.

Then, the lady told Katherine that the man was “always out there,” and that she came across him every time she went to work. Katherine’s face turned worrisome, with her saying, “Oh my god,” while the other woman admitted that it was “not okay.”

Reactions

Katherine’s clips sparked multiple responses, with most viewers still fearing for the woman’s safety after the revelation. One said, “Ngl this is almost more concerning than what I originally thought it could be.” Another one commented, “That makes me so sad for her. That’s not a safe situation at all.”

Other viewers, meanwhile, applauded Katherine for going the extra mile and warning the woman about a potentially dangerous situation. One wrote, “You’re a girl’s girl, and I love you.” Another one added, “We need more people like you in this crazy world.”
