Driving and substances do not go together, especially in a New York school zone of all places. Yet, that’s exactly where one “hammered” woman was caught driving when she allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and smashed into a truck. She didn’t just bash up the side; she “totaled the truck,” according to Iliketolickleadpaint, who shared a clip of the collision on r/Roadcam.
Iliketolickleadpaint claims the woman had “taken a nap,” causing her to drift straight into his Peterbilt Swaploader. “She slammed into the rear wheels and broke the axle right out of the mounts,” he explained. As to how the crash “totaled” his vehicle, he wrote that she hit him at the “perfect angle.”
OP discussed the repair costs: “New one is 181k. Adjuster came out yesterday. Pretty sure the frame is tweaked,” to which someone responded in shock, “She’s gonna be uninsurable after this.” Hundreds couldn’t believe the damage, though some were skeptical of the trucker’s claims.

Iliketolickleadpaint also shared that he was baffled by how careless the woman was driving and recalled checking on her after the crash. “She never even attempted an overcorrection. She looked like she was hammered when I got out and talked to her,” he wrote. Aside from the damage to his truck, many agreed that this woman should not have been out on the road in her condition.
“Imagine if she hit a child instead...” commented a Redditor. OP responded in agreement, theoretically asking, “What if it hadn’t have been a big truck with a dumpster on it? What if it would have been a car picking up their children at that school? A kid crossing the street? A mom and her infant just cruising along and this lady nods out and smashes head on into them.”
Some Redditors Held the Truck Driver Responsible for the Careless Woman’s Accident
Unfortunately, there were plenty of people slamming the trucker for not reacting or swerving quickly enough to avoid the collision. Iliketolickleadpaint quickly shot back, arguing that there was no way for him to avoid her trajectory into his blind spot. Not to mention, he was cruising through a school zone at 20mph, and she was in the wrong for crossing a double yellow line.
Luckily, a school resource officer was nearby and responded quickly to the accident, and OP didn’t report any serious injuries on either person’s end.
