Fans looking forward to Nicki Minaj‘s upcoming album release will have to wait a little longer. A few hours ago, Nicki Minaj, a mom of one, took to social media to officially announce that she will be changing the release date of her album Pink Friday 2. The change stemmed from fans’ concerns about a Lil Wayne project scheduled for release on the same day. Given the beautiful bond between the two rappers, Nicki Minaj felt it was only right to postpone the album release. Now, rather than November 17, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 will drop on the music icon’s 41st birthday.
Nicki Minaj Album Release Date Extended
Nicki Minaj has extended the release date for her upcoming album by three weeks. In June 2023, the star took to Twitter to announce that she would be releasing her first album in five years on October 20, 2023. However, she later pushed Pink Friday 2‘s release to November 17. She didn’t state the reason for the change, but Nicki Minaj told Twitter users it was due to some exciting news she would share later. Unfortunately, Nicki Minaj’s album will no longer be available on November 17. The 40-year-old made the announcement during an Instagram Live on Tuesday.
This time, the Anaconda singer gave fans a valid reason for her decision. Nicki Minaj explained it was because her longtime friend, Lil Wayne, will release a joint album with his pal, 2 Chainz, on November 17. She explained that Lil Wayne would never drop a project on the same day as her, and she was doing the same. Revealing the new date, Nicki Minaj said:
“It will come out on my birthday. Pink Friday 2 I’m so happy to announce will be out on my birthday, December 8th.”
Nicki Minaj Makes Another Exciting Announcement
The change in Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 release date wasn’t the only revelation the Trinidad native shared. The Call of Duty game character announced that on November 17, pre-sale tickets for her upcoming tour will become available. This will allow Barbz to secure their spots for what promises to be a remarkable concert experience come 2024. To add to the excitement, Nicki Minaj announced that she had a new fragrance (also called Pink Friday 2) coming out on December 13 and December 26, 2023, through Amazon and J.C. Penny, respectively.
