Nicole Kidman is speaking up about her sensual side on the set of Babygirl. The actress revealed that her role in the movie was so sexually challenging that she took breaks between sets. Kidman plays an influential married company owner who begins an affair with a highly sexually expressive young intern.
In the trailer for the upcoming movie, the new employee Samuel tells Kidman’s character, “I tell you what to do and you do it.” Samuel’s orders seemingly satisfies Kidman’s character’s desire to strip naked and let him dominate her.
Kidman admitted in her interview that performing the scenes with Samuel and Jacob, her husband, was often too overwhelming.“There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration. It’s like. ‘Don’t touch me,'” she noted. The actress continued that there were times during shooting when she said:
“I don’t want to orgasm anymore.”
Kidman stated that she does not care about getting touched again in her life, adding, “I’m over it. It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout.” Young British actor Harris Dickinson plays the character, Samuel, and Jacob is portrayed by Antonio Banderas. The thriller is written and directed by Halina Reijn, who directed the 2022 comedy horror Bodies Bodies Bodies. Last December, Kidman spent time with Dickinson in New York bonding. In her words to The Sun:
“A lot of it was just talking about ourselves, which is a really great way for actors to come together, because you share things.”
Nicole Kidman’s 81st Venice Film Festival Outing Cut Short by Personal Loss
We reported in September that Kidman received an award at the festival for her role in Babygirl. However, a family loss ruined her plans to accept the “Best Actress” award, leaving Reijn to hold her place. The director read out a written statement from the mom-of-four on stage detailing her reason for absence.
“Today, I arrived in Venice to find out shortly after that my brave and beautiful mother, Janelle Anne Kidman, had just passed,” Kidman wrote. “I’m in shock, and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her.” Kidman acknowledges her mother’s role in shaping and guiding her. She also expressed her gratitude to the audience. “The collision of life and art is heartbreaking,” the statement concludes.
