Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are one celebrity couple that seems to have it all figured out. The Aussie duo have been married for nearly 20 years, and they still appear to be going strong. The actress and the singer support each other in their careers, and raise two daughters together. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t issues in their relationship. Recently, a rumor that Urban is feeling a bit jealous of his wife’s co-star, Zac Efron, surfaced.
Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron previously starred together in the film The Paperboy, in which they played romantic interests. This year, they’re reuniting as on-screen lovers yet again for A Family Affair opposite actress Joey King. Sources tell Australian outlet New Idea that Keith Urban isn’t thrilled that the pair teamed up again for more steamy scenes.
Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron’s Relationship Makes Keith Urban a Bit Uncomfortable
“No doubt Keith didn’t like seeing another bloke putting his hands on his wife, even if it is in a movie or at a press event. What man would?” an insider dished. “Even though everyone knows Nicole and Zac are just friends, it’s reportedly rattled Keith’s cage that Zac only did this movie because of Nic.”
Meanwhile, Kidman is happy to push the envelope when it comes to her roles. She recently revealed that she finds relationships between older woman and younger men fair, but that men, like Efron, need to be willing to tell the story.
“We’ve had it from way back with older men and younger women, that’s just always been the norm – it’s okay, it’s completely acceptable. The problem is we’ve not had the equivalent from all different viewpoints, with women telling the stories. And we need game men,” she stated, per People Magazine.
Even though Keith Urban is very understanding and supportive Nicole Kidman’s career, he’s said to be “unnerved” by the fact that she and Zac Efron share an intimate bond. The insider also adds that the pair seemingly have “no boundaries” for personal space because of their close connection.
Even if Keith Urban is uncomfortable with Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron’s relationship, he seems to be handling it well. The singer appears to trust his wife and continues to stand beside her.
