Nigerian Man Tapes US Passport to His Forehead in Case He’s Asked About His Citizenship in Ohio: ‘This Is How We Move Around’

Hilarious, but sad.

Amid the tense and heated political climate involving ICE, a Nigerian man, who is also a US citizen living in Columbus, Ohio, came up with a solution: taping his US passport to his forehead in case he is approached by law enforcement.

The man himself, who goes by MC Dotish, posted the hilarious albeit politically-aware clip to TikTok. Laughing, the Ohio man explained, “This is how we move around.” He then added that he taped the document before someone got the chance to ask if he was a citizen and where his passport was.

In a follow-up skit, Dotish was stopped by a woman, definitely a friend of his, who asked about his passport. After saying “hello” multiple times, he showed the passport taped to his forehead. He said that it was “obvious” and asked why the woman was laughing.

As if it wasn’t enough, the Ohio man then shared a third clip. Instead of his US passport, Dotish had taped his Green Card to his forehead. He walked around nonchalantly, with a subtle smile appearing on his face.

Laughter And Heartbreak

Dotish explained that the purpose of his videos is to expose the current situation going on in America. He said, “The video addresses the current ICE situation in Columbus, Ohio, and in the U.S., where people are being stopped and questioned about their citizenship, and non-citizens risk arrest.”

Dotish’s first clip went viral, garnering more than 400,000 likes and 5,000 comments. Many were laughing at his skit, while others were worried about the current state of the country.

“Thank you for bringing attention to this. As funny as your video is, this is scary as hell,” one user said. Another one commented, “The assumption of ICE agents being able to read or recognize pictures is massive here.” A third one wrote, “And this is supposed to be different from… let’s say, just out of the blue…a yellow star on your arm?“

While the Ohio man’s videos are hilarious, it is worrying that they might not be too far from reality, with anti-ICE protests exploding around the country and many lives in danger.
