It would seem that the early season of showcases has begun, and Nintendo was among the first company to surprise us with a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. For those who don’t know, these events are more for third-party titles instead of Nintendo’s beloved IPs. So, if you were expecting some Pokémon news or a new Smash Bros., that didn’t happen here. Still, we got some excellent surprises, including several new releases and even updates to some games we thought were long-forgotten. Without further ado, let’s go over the major announcements of the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.
Every Major Game Announcement in the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase
There were plenty of announcements during the Nintendo Direct, and while every single one deserves a spot on the list, we’ll go over the biggest reveals and list all the other games at the end. With that in mind, let’s begin.
Orbitals Is an Exclusive 2-Player Co-op for the Switch 2
The show started with one of the most beautiful and nostalgic-looking games we’ve seen in recent times. Clearly inspired by the style of several anime from the 90s, Orbitals puts you in the shoes of two galactic explorers as they try to save their home from a galactic storm. What makes this game so interesting is its focus on co-op action, which seems to be quite similar to Split Fiction. So, if you’re always looking for the next cooperative adventure, you should get Orbitals, which launches in summer 2026.
Valheim Lands on the Nintendo Switch 2
We were really not expecting Valheim to show up on the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, but we’re glad it did, as this platform needs more survival games. In case you’ve been living under a rock somehow, Valheim became one of the biggest survival/crafting titles out there due to its sense of exploration, intricate building mechanics, and dangerous world. Now, players will be able to experience this on the go when it launches later on the Nintendo Switch 2 this year.
Hollow Knight Makes Its Triumphant Return
Speaking of challenges, Hollow Knight – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available right now. That’s right. Contrary to the other announcements, you can jump into one of the most beautiful yet most punishing Metroidvanias today. This is excellent for those who already finished Silksong and want to experience the series’ origins.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Brings The Gorgeous HD-2D Style to This Platform
Square Enix surprised us with a new HD-2D title in this Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase with The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales. This new RPG from the teams behind Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default sends us on a story spanning different eras and over a thousand years to break a curse. We can see that this title differs a bit from the turn-based RPGs we’ve seen recently, leaning more toward action-oriented gameplay, which we can’t wait to try on June 18, 2026.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth Is On Its Way
We all know that Final Fantasy VII Remake just launched its Nintendo Switch 2 version, but Square Enix has been working hard to bring its sequel to this platform, and the good news is that it is right around the corner. Rebirth is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 3, 2026, giving us another memorable adventure with Cloud and the gang, but now in an open world packed with things to do.
PRAGMATA Launches Its Demo
The road to PRAGMATA has been long, but with the wait almost over, Capcom decided to launch a demo that you can experience right now on your Nintendo Switch 2. This demo will change with every run you make, with a few differences popping here and there to encourage players to replay it. If you want to go in blind, remember that PRAGMATA launches on April 24, 2026.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger Arrives This Summer
The best Digimon game of recent memory, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, arrives on the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 10, 2026. However, it isn’t just a simple port. It will bring several improvements, such as 4K and HDR support in Quality Mode. So, if you want to see just how unforgettable this Digi-adventure is, make sure to get it this summer.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Is Back With a Massive Update
We all thought Granblue Fantasy: Relink was over, but we got a huge surprise today with the Endless Ragnarok update, which brings new characters, new combat mechanics, and many more encounters. While this was announced for the Nintendo Switch 2, it is coming to all other platforms on July 9, 2026.
Monster Hunter Stories 3 Got a Demo Announcement
One of the most anticipated games of 2026 is, undoubtedly, Monster Hunter Stories 3, and we won’t have to wait too long to play it because a demo was revealed during the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. Like many other demos that come from Capcom, progress will carry over once the game fully launches in March.
A New Trailer Showing How Resident Evil Requiem Looks on the Nintendo Switch 2
Grace and Leon’s new adventure is just a few weeks away, and we know it will also arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2. Now, we got another look at Resident Evil Requiem, and saw a few new details, locations, and other new combat moves that we’ll get to experience real soon. Unfortunately, there isn’t any news about a demo for it, but even if we don’t get it, we know it’ll be a fantastic game.
A Triple Bethesda Surprise
Last but not least, Bethesda surprised us all with a triple announcement during the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition are all coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Oblivion doesn’t have a release date, but Indiana Jones launches on May 12, 2026, while Fallout 4 arrives in just a few weeks on February 24, 2026.
Besides those major announcements, there were plenty of other third-party titles, such as Captain Tsubasa 2, Turok Origins, Super Bomberman Collection, and many more. If you’d like to take a look at the whole 30-minute showcase, here’s the link to the video. And if you’ve already watched it, it is time to pre-order or wishlist because this year will be packed for Nintendo Switch 2 owners.
