For months now Nintendo’s social media accounts have been constantly accosted by fans asking for one simple thing; a new Nintendo Direct. It has been revealed that on Thursday, November 12th at 2 p.m. Pacific time, a new installment will go live. This Nintendo Direct will focus on news about upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games. This is good news as much of the company’s plans for 2016 are still unknown. While the exact content of the video will remain a mystery until its release Nintendo has confirmed that there will be no new news on the subjects of the NX gaming console, or its upcoming games for smartphones.
Nintendo Direct was created and hosted by the company’s former President, Satoru Iwata and after his passing earlier this year Nintendo Direct ceased. Nintendo Direct was fondly remembered as fun and amusing videos that brought the latest news, trailers, and information about Nintendo’s games, intentions, and plans directly to the consumer, with a good dose of humor, skits, and humility thrown into the mix with an occasional blockbuster game announcement added for good measure. As an example for anyone who hasn’t yet experienced a Nintendo Direct below is one of the last videos hosted by Satoru Iwata.

One other thing about this upcoming presentation is still unclear. Nintendo has not said who will be hosting this Nintendo Direct. In addition to that, this Nintendo Direct has only been announced for the North American region, with nothing being announced for Japan. Why? At this time, there are no answers, but perhaps things will be made clearer with the advent of this newest installment on Thursday.
