According to Nintendo’s maintenance schedule, “some network services,” including online play and rankings may be unavailable when the maintenance begins on Monday, January 11 at 5 pm PT, 8 pm ET. Services should be back up and running the following day at 3 am PT, 6 am ET. You can see the service alert below. The exact times for all regions are below.
- 5 PM PT (Jan. 11) – 3 AM PT (Jan. 12)
- 8 PM ET (Jan. 11) – 6 AM ET (Jan. 12)
- 2 AM in the UK (Jan. 12) – 11 AM in the UK (Jan. 12)
- 3 AM in Europe (Jan. 12) – 12 PM in Europe (Jan. 12)
So far, it isn’t clear what is meant by “some network services”; whether that means the eShop, Miiverse or Nintendo Account functions for Japan will be unavailable.
2016 is shaping up to be a big year for Nintendo. The company will launch its first smartphone game, Miitomo, in March. Later on this year, Nintendo is expected to divulge information about its console, the NX. We will keep you posted with more news about Nintendo updates as it comes to fruition.
