The Nintendo NX is still at the forefront of every Nintendo fan’s mind. And now another piece of information has apparently leaked.
According to an anonymous poster on the Nintendo NX Reddit forum, the NX is slightly more powerful than the PS4. This would position it as the strongest console on the market, at least for the time being. This follows the news that Nintendo will cease production of the Wii U this year in anticipation of the NX’s release.
This move seemed very suspect, especially given the releases of The Legend of Zelda of Wii U and Star Fox Zero are still ahead of us. It would only make sense that Nintendo would want to sell as many consoles as possible, not isolate consumers to one system.
Last week also saw images of what one poster claimed were images of an NX controller. These were later proved to be false, but they generated a lot of chatter about how Nintendo should model their console. The main question that still hangs in the air is whether or not the Nintendo NX will be the much rumoured two-in-one device. This idea suggests that the controller for the console will actually be Nintendo’s new handheld which can detach and taken on the go.
This is only one of many rumoured possibilities for the new system. We haven’t heard anything more than the codename since it was briefly mentioned by the late Satoru Iwata last year.
