Nintendo Officially Joining Gamescom 2023
The official Twitter account for Gamescom confirmed that Nintendo will officially attend the live expo in Germany later this year.
This is the first time since 2019 that the company has attended the show. The company has skipped the show ever since, likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Even when the in-person show for Gamescom 2022 was designated enough to be held in-person, Nintendo did not attend in spite of its major presence in previous shows.
Now, Nintendo will be attending the show once again. While the details on what Nintendo’s presence at Gamescom 2023 will entail, it can be presumed that game showcases and announcements will be shared in some form.
With Nintendo having skipped out on events like E3 this year, the news on some of the latest upcoming titles from the company has been limited to only the most recent games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, and others.
More information on these games is likely to be shared at Gamescom 2024 alongside potential new game announcements, which may potentially include the next mainline Mario game that Shigeru Miyamoto has teased following the success of the Super Mario Bros Movie.
Gamescom 2023 is set to be held from August 23 to August 27, 2023, at the convention in Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. For more of the latest information and updates on Nintendo, Gamescom 2023, and all things gaming, please be sure to continue reading The Nerd Stash in the near future!
