Good news for Nioh fans, whatever platform you’re playing them at. Koei Tecmo has announced they’re going to simultaneously release The Nioh Collection for PS5 as well as Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition for PS4 and PC on February 5, 2021, to celebrate the franchise’s fourth anniversary. As its name suggests, The Nioh Collection will include the first title, its sequel, and all the DLC. It will support 4K resolution, up to 120 FPS, fast load times, along with save data transfer from the PS4 versions. However, Nioh 2 Remastered and the DLC on PS5 are not available for individual purchase.
If you have bought Nioh 2 on PS4, here’s how to upgrade it to the PS5 version for free:
- Owners of Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition on PS4 can upgrade to Nioh 2 Remastered – The Complete Edition on PS5 at no additional cost.
- Meanwhile, owners of Nioh 2 on PS4 can upgrade to Nioh 2 Remastered on PS5, and receive the PS5 version of any DLC expansions you already own on PS4.
- Then simply insert your PS4 game disc into your PS5 (if you bought it physically), navigate to the Game Hub, and download the upgraded remaster.
And after Nioh 2‘s third and final DLC expansion, The First Samurai, released on December 17, 2020, you’ll be able to experience the full journey again with Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition. Not just for PS4 and PS5 owners, though, PC players are invited again as well. The thrilling conclusion to the yokai-samurai story will also add a new difficulty level that will give even the most seasoned veterans a run for their money. Here’s the official synopsis of The First Samurai plot.
A flash of light from Sohayamaru whisks the protagonist back to the past as a Visitor for the third and final time. They are brought back to the place their mother spoke of when they were very young, the land of the fabled youth that defeated an oni.
