The No Kings protests had a lot of confrontations between MAGA supporters and protesters. Sometimes, it even got physical. One example took place in North Carolina when a MAGA thug pushed an elderly protester to the ground. The entire situation started when the guy pulled up to the protest in his vehicle and started annoying the protesters. His intentions were clear, especially since he had in the back of his vehicle a skeleton dressed in a Captain America costume and holding a fake gun. As you would expect, the gun is pointed at the protesters. When the MAGA thug tries to brake-check people, one elderly man responded by using his sign to bang on the vehicle.
The driver didn’t like this, even though he was the one at fault. He got out of his car and proceeded to push the elderly man, who was 80 years old. Unfortunately, the victim hit his head on the pavement and lost not just blood but also his consciousness. Of course, the coward sped off after the assault, but he was arrested later. This was thanks to the fact that other protesters filmed his license plate. The elderly man also received help as he got into an ambulance later on. These attacks could have ended terribly, especially since MAGA supporters easily get physical with those whom they oppose. At least the old man was okay.
People Reacting to the North Carolina Attack
Of course, the entire North Carolina community was outraged at the attack that took place. Most people came after MAGA supporters, as one woman wrote, “And they wonder why women in my generation won’t even look in their direction. God they are disgusting.” Someone else was uncomfortable with what the guy had in the back of his vehicle. “Assault aside, the visuals on this are so fkn creepy. How can you set this up and think you’re the good guy?” they said. Another person said that this could have been fatal to the 80-year-old man. “That’s assault inflicting injury at the least, maybe felony assault, depending on the severity of the injury. People get killed exactly like this. Your unprotected skull smacking concrete is potentially fatal. Name names. Where’s the arrest information?” they asked. OP, however, didn’t share this because he didn’t want to be accused of doxxing anyone.
Several people also believed that any person who is a MAGA supporter would have behaved similarly. “Sounds like the few MAGA counter protestors I saw yesterday. Just a couple of solitary angry dudes in gigantic trucks honking and screaming obscenities. I’m sorry about your friend and hopes he makes a speedy recovery. That man needs to be charged with assault and battery,” one wrote. Others focused on the injuries that the elderly man could have gotten, as someone said, “An 80yo hitting their head on the pavement is the perfect recipe for a massive brain bleed if they’re on any blood thinners. Hope he’s ok and can keep protesting.” Thankfully, OP reported that the man is okay. What is annoying is that some comments claimed that the MAGA guy didn’t face any charges. This is terrible if it were true.
