Obi-Wan Kenobi is officially joining the Battlefront 2 hero roster! EA confirmed this information on its website for Star Wars Battlefront 2. The Jedi master will be entering the game on November 28.
Obi-Wan will be coming into the game during the Battle of Geonosis update. You can read more about the Geonosis update on its website. In general, the update consists of the new map “Geonosis” which is where Obi-Wan and General Grievous had their big battle during The Clone Wars battle.
Fans know the movie is Star Wars Episode II Attack of The Clones. The update for the game will also consist of three new vehicles including the AT-TE. Senior Level Designer, Peter Vesti says they’re going to make the Battle of Geonosis the biggest one in the game yet.
“Another thing that we’eve done to add to that sense of scale, was to focus on the AT-TE as a fully player-controllable vehicle… We’re going to have as many of them in the level as possible,” Peter says.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a master of the defensive lightsaber style combat. So, let’s talk about what his abilities will be like within the game. According to EA, the Jedi master will have blocking skills that are superior to any other Jedi to the game. He will have the stamina and almost perfect defense to unleash his powerful chained melee attacks.
He will have a defense rush ability that will allow him to block all incoming blaster shots while running forward at his enemies. His other two abilities include the Restrictive Mind Trick which disables any enemy abilities for a short time and an All-Out Push, which is stronger than Luke Sky Walker’s. Obi-Wan will be able to channel his force power to allow players to increase the range.
