The long-awaited Obi-Wan Kenobi series release is just a few months away. Since the teaser trailer for the Obi-Wan series was dropped on Youtube earlier this month, Star Wars fans have been posting their excitement all over the internet about the return of the iconic Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Fans are also genuinely excited that Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role as Obi-Wan years after the end of the Star Wars Prequels. The teaser trailer revealed the Disney Plus Obi-Wan Kenobi series release date would be Wednesday, May 25th. In a video announcement from Disney Plus, the series premiere date has been pushed back two days. This means Star Wars fans will have to wait just a few days longer to see Obi-Wan, but the announcement of the new release date may be an even better gift.
On Twitter, the new Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series release date announcement was posted today, Thursday, March 31st. In the video announcement, Ewan McGregor greeted us and shared his news.
“Hello Star Wars fans. thank you for all your incredible support and response to Obi-Wan Kenobi. I have some important news, our premiere date is moving just a couple of days from Wednesday to Friday, May the 27th. But here’s the exciting part… The first two episodes will premiere together.”

The Star Wars universe’s latest installment to come, ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi,’ is a limited series fans can only experience on the streaming service Disney Plus. The limited series events occur between the end of the prequel trilogy and the original Star Wars trilogy. This never before seen look at life in the Star Wars universe will show us the unique story of Obi-Wan Kenobi watching over Luke Skywalker from afar after his padawan Anakin turned into Darth Vader. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series starts ten years after the extermination of seemingly all Jedi, old and young (rip younglings), after the execution of Order 66.
