With Republicans having lost elections in New Jersey, Virginia, California, and New York, Ohio GOP politician Vivek Ramaswamy believes there are lessons to be learned. These two include making life affordable for Americans and removing identity politics from the equation. In other words, the two main things that the Trump administration is strongly against right now. Ironically, life has become exponentially more expensive with tariffs and insurance, and people, namely Trump supporters, fiercely oppose anyone who even resembles an “illegal.”
Considering the states mentioned above are “blue,” it’s no wonder the voters chose a Democrat. On top of that, many felt that Vivek Ramaswamy was more or less admitting the faults of how Republican politicians see things. Or, as one Reddit post puts it: he “admits no one likes Republican policies.” Making lives affordable and welcoming diversity has been something the Democrats have always been pushing for. So many felt that the Ohio politician was more or less seemingly trying to convince Republicans to be more like ‘the other side.’
“He’s basically saying become a democratic centrist,” remarked a commenter. “Imagine saying ‘no identity politics’ and ‘woke’ in the same breath without even so much as a shred of irony,” laughed another. “Two key lessons – don’t be fascists & don’t be fascists,” quipped a third. Sarcastic comments aside, many blame the right’s leadership for all the damage done to morale and the economy. “Trump is POISON in elections,” says one user. “This is what happens when a ‘president’ submits to putting a country in the middle east first and not Americans like he ‘promised,'” added a second.
In the end, what’s done is done, and it would appear some Republicans are beginning to wake up to the mess around caused by the current administration. Hopefully, this election is a wake-up call to all political parties’ voters that something drastically needs to change in DC if things are to go in a better direction for the country.
