An Ohio woman is facing criticism online after claiming she was being evicted because God told her not to look for a job.

The woman, identified as Alexandria, shared a TikTok video explaining her situation. She began by saying she was being evicted from her home because she was being “obedient to Jesus Christ.” She acknowledged that her explanation might sound “absolutely insane” to some viewers.

Alexandria continued explaining that God had placed her in the apartment about a month earlier, describing it as a place to rest and lay her head after she had been in the “wilderness.” She claimed that God had told her, “Rest. Don’t go looking for a job,” and promised to restore everything she would lose, including her furniture.

Alexandria added that the apartment wasn’t going to be her permanent home. She claimed that on her first night there, she heard Jesus Christ tell her, “don’t get comfortable” and “this is not where you are gonna be forever.”

As the video continued, Alexandria said she had believed God would allow her to stay in the apartment for at least six months. “But no, he gave me just a month,” she said. She added, “So I will be leaving a completely furnished one bedroom apartment. I’m gonna be even leaving some of the food.”

Alexandria added that she did not know where God was leading her next and said she would be leaving everything behind. “I’m not mad. I’m not sad,” she said. She explained that she would only pack the items she believed God had told her to take, including her clothes, her puppy, and bottles of water.

“I know that he’s taking me right back into the wilderness season. This was just a place for me to rest because Jesus Christ will do that,” Alexandria continued. She said she believed the eviction was part of Jesus Christ’s plan for her, adding that she would be returning to live in her car. The video ended with Alexandria admitting that she did not know whether God wanted her to stay in Ohio. She also said she had until the following morning before the eviction.

Viewers Slam Ohio Woman Following Claims About God

Many viewers criticized the Ohio woman for believing that her eviction was happening because God had told her not to look for a job. Some expressed concern about her well-being, with one person writing, “Spiritual psychosis is a real thing. I’m praying your strength.” Another commenter mocked her explanation, joking, “Sista God told me the exact same thing when I got my new place ‘You won’t be here long, if you don’t pay these damn bills!!’”

Other viewers expressed disbelief at Alexandria’s explanation, with one person asking, “Wait Jesus told you not to pay your bills?” Some continued mocking the situation by joking about the belongings she planned to leave behind. “Can I have your stuff?” one commenter asked. Another wrote, “Can I have your couch????? God told me I can have your couch.”

Alexandria’s story prompted debate over how people should balance their religious beliefs with practical responsibilities, including finding employment and paying bills. Some viewers questioned whether faith should lead someone to stop seeking work, while others emphasized the importance of making decisions that protect their housing and financial stability.
