How To Get Energy Link in Once Human 1.0 (The Fast Way)

Go easy on the fast travel

Energy Link in Once Human dictates just how much you can progress in the open-world survival RPG. You need it for fast travel, skill trees, crafting, and even weapon upgrades. So without it, you’re going to be a bit stuck. At one point, my gameplay even halted to a snail’s pace in the absence of Energy Link (I got a little too indulgent in fast travel). If you want to avoid that kind of predicament, here’s how to get Energy Link efficiently in Once Human.

The Fastest Ways to Get Energy Link

I’ll be presenting several methods here that you can employ interchangeably depending on your current in-game stage. Most of them involve selling items and leveraging crafting, which in itself is a bit intensive on effort. This is where much of the grind happens in-game.

Note that since Once Human runs on seasonal content, meaning these methods might get nerfed or might not be viable in the future. Currently, they are effective.

Method 1: Crafting Throwing Daggers/Pickaxes & Selling Them

It’s not just the crafting part that’s somewhat tedious here but also the resource gathering needed for the items you will sell. However, it’s consistent and reliable. I considered this method as Energy Link on-demand if you already have tons of materials.

Here’s a step-by-step process.

  1. Ideally, you want an Intermediate Supplies Workbench maybe with some Memetic perks that increase crafting speed.
  2. Craft either Throwing Daggers or any Pickaxe that costs at least 50 Energy Link when sold. You can only craft five at a time, so be patient.
  3. Craft as many as you can carry depending on how much Energy Link you need.
  4. Once you’re satisfied with the amount, head to an NPC merchant in any town (the ones with a grocery basket icon), and sell the Throwing Daggers or Pickaxes you crafted.

Even with just five Bronze Pickaxes, you can easily net 500 Energy Link for less than five minutes. It also helps to have a couple of Digby Boy Deviants gathering the Copper Ores for you.

Method 2: Selling Ingots

Alternatively, you can stop at crafting ingots using Electric Furnaces. Copper Ingots or Silver Ingots sell well. Ingots also sell decently though the price for tools like Pickaxes or Daggers still sell for more (dozens or hundreds).

Meanwhile, ingots typically sell for single-digit prices. It’s easier to craft them in bulk semi-passively; however, here’s how:

  1. Get at least two Digby Boys, and place them in a Securement Container.
  2. Wait for them to accumulate ore.
  3. Turn those ores into ingots using an Electric Furnace.
  4. Sell the ingots to any NPC merchant.

Method 3: Run Securement Silos or Bosses

Silos give lots of Energy Link once you clear the boss and some enemies or chests inside these dungeons can also drop Energy Link. Securement Silos have recommended levels of 15, 25, 35, or 45 depending on your progression stage so don’t go rushing blindly into these dungeons.

If you’re not too confident going solo, you can try out bosses instead as they have an innate matchmaking lobby before you dive into the dungeon.
