Moose City, or Town Mousse if you go by the signs, contains at least 6 different crates in Once Human. Luckily, you won’t need to find all of them. However, to find the ones that you do need, you’ll need to traverse the candy-themed city and learn that no matter how many sprinkles can be found on the building and decor, the inhabitants aren’t nearly as sweet as their surroundings. Let’s take a look at how to complete the Moose City Settlement Exploration quest in Once Human.
Defeat Normal Enemies
As with most of the low level areas found in Once Human, you’ll only need to take out a few normal enemies. Typically, in more advanced areas, you’ll need to take out elite enemies or high volumes of normal enemies, but Moose City isn’t too tricky. Take out 12 normal enemies, then you can move on to the next few tasks.
Gear Crate
During my travels through Moose City, I was only able to locate one Gear Crate, but luckily, you only need to open two crates, and they can be wither Weapon or Gear Crates. The Gear Crate is located in the Western side of the large building on the North side of town. After you head inside, there will be some enemies to take care of before you can sneak behind the desks in the back of the room to pick up the Gear Crate.
Weapon Crate #1
The first of the three Weapon Crates located in Moose City can be found in the same building you found the Gear Crate at the far North portion of town. However, rather than heading in and turning to the West, you’ll find this crate in the Easternmost area of the building, surrounded by some speakers, and in front of a book shelf.
Weapon Crate #2
If you’re not in the mood to head into the building, (I don’t blame you; there are loads of Deviants up in there) there are two more Weapon Crates that can be found in other portions of the map. The first is pretty easy to find, and is just South of the big building at the North of Moose City. There aren’t many school busses in the area, (there’s only one) so look for the one covered in vines and climb up on top of it to find the Weapon Crate.
Weapon Crate #3
The final Weapon Crate in Moose City is pretty easy to find. Toward the Southwestern area of town, there’s an unmistakable deli/bakery/restaurant. Head inside, take out the pesky Deviants standing in your way, and hop behind the counter.
Mystical Crate Location
If you spent any time looking around Town Mousse before getting into the tedious tasks that its Settlement Exploration quest require you to complete, then you probably noticed the giant Barbie-pink cake in the most central part of the city. If you didn’t, stop lying, it’s impossible to miss. Now, getting on top of the cake isn’t the easiest thing to do, and there’s also a Glutton that spawns right next to it. You’ll have to use the surrounding scaffolding to get to the bottom tier of the cake, then climb up the remaining tiers using the candles. The Mystical Crate is sitting in the center of the top tier.
Hidden Mystical Crate
If you’ve collected the main Mystical Crate in Moose City and you haven’t quite gotten your fix yet, don’t worry; there’s another Mystical Crate. This one, however, you’ll have to put a bit of work into finding. Just past the giant cake, there’s a whole bunch of scaffolding that you can climb up onto on the edge of Moose City. Hop up to the first level and walk through the purple crystal thing. Following the scaffolding up, walk through any crystals that appear after walking through the previous until the Mystical Crate appears on the far end of the scaffolding.
Rift Anchor
Typically, the Rift Anchor would be the easiest part of any Exploration quest, but this time that’s not quite the case. You can find the Rift Anchor in the Northernmost portion of town, and marked on the map, but once you get there, you might have some trouble getting your hands on it if you aren’t prepared. Surrounding the anchor, there will be quite a few exploding enemies that will run at you, then detonate once they get close enough. However, after them, you’ll have to fight off a horde of what seems like thousands of spiders. The best way to get through them is to climb onto the tent and shoot them from above so they don’t do any damage to you when they die.
Once Human is now available on PC.
